Learning Lab
The Learning Lab is the Flourish Project’s collaborative portal for schools and educators exploring education as a living system.
About this Lab:
The Learning Lab reimagines education through the ESF Framework’s integrated lens of human capacities, culture, ecology, and economy. It supports learning environments that cultivate curiosity, agency, creativity, and relational intelligence—qualities essential for navigating an interconnected world .
Here, education is understood as a lifelong developmental process that strengthens all aspects of human flourishing. The Lab works with educators and learning communities to develop approaches that centre wellbeing, meaning, and belonging, while also fostering the skills needed for participation in regenerative cultures and economies. The Learning Lab helps shape learning systems capable of supporting both individual growth and the wider health of society.
The Learning Lab as communities of practice
The Learning Lab operates as communities of practice.
This brings together providers, schools, educators, researchers, and partners who are learning with one another over time, rather than implementing a fixed model or programme. Participants are connected by shared questions about education, flourishing, and responsibility in a rapidly changing world.
Learning within the Lab happens through dialogue, reflection, experimentation, and the sharing of lived experience. Ideas are explored in real contexts, shaped by place, culture, and community, and refined through collective sense-making rather than top-down direction.
The role of the Learning Lab is to hold the space, provide shared frameworks and resources, and support conditions for learning to emerge across the network.
Using the Learning Lab portal
This portal is being designed as a shared working space. Schools, educators, and partners use it to connect with the Learning Lab community, explore ideas and resources, reflect on practice, and begin conversations about possible collaboration.
Engagement is exploratory and relational. There is no fixed pathway or programme. The portal supports learning over time, shaped by the needs and contexts of those involved.
The Learning Lab is currently under active development.
